This may sound crazy to some of you, but I speak to my obstacles. Actually, everyone speaks to their obstacles…it’s how you do it that determines what becomes of them. Have you ever said any of the following?
- I’m never going to get out of debt!
- I always get sick in the (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter)
- We’re going to be short on the rent this month.
- I can’t make my car payment.
- No one cares about ________________.
- My children are monsters and never listen to me!
- I have the brattiest kids in the world!
I bet you have. I hear it all the time when I’m out and about. I’ve even said some of those things myself.
Now, what I’m about to say may be a stretch for some of you. Depending on your particular religious views, you may or may not agree with what I believe. But in the context of what I believe, I see how the words I speak have a tremendous effect on the circumstances in my life and in the lives of those I love.
I believe that YHWH, God Almighty, the God of the Bible, created everything seen and unseen. He did this out of nothing. He did this simply by speaking, and it was so.
Genesis 1
1IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.B)’>(B)
5And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
6And God said, Let there be a firmament [the expanse of the sky] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters [below] from the waters [above].
7And God made the firmament [the expanse] and separated the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so.
8And God called the firmament Heavens. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
9And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected into one place [of standing], and let the dry land appear. And it was so.
10God called the dry land Earth, and the accumulated waters He called Seas. And God saw that this was good (fitting, admirable) and He approved it.
11And God said, Let the earth put forth [tender] vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so.
12The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it.
13And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
14And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens [of God’s provident care], and [to mark] seasons, days, and years,D)’>(D)
27So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
