Did you know that Everything Bagel Seasoning is great on more than just bagels? Yes it sure is! This easy chicken salad recipe uses simple ingredients from your pantry and fridge. An easy, low carb meal or snack ready in 5 minutes or less! Trim Healthy Mamas, this is a super easy and delicious THM S option. Or, lighten it up for E or FP!
Ok, so I’m a little late jumping on the Everything Bagel Seasoning bandwagon. Or, Everything BUT the Bagel Seasoning…or Everything Seasoning.
Whatever you want to call it, right?
This easy recipe was inspired by another delicious recipe. These Asian Tuna Salad Nacho Bites actually call for something called furikake seasoning.
Furi-what?? Furikake (furry-kak-ee) is a dry Japanese seasoning meant to be sprinkled on top of cooked rice, vegetables, and fish. It typically consists of a mixture of dried fish, sesame seeds, chopped seaweed, sugar, salt, and monosodium glutamate.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furikake
Since I’d never heard of it, I certainly didn’t have any on hand. I’m blessed to be connected with the recipe author through a bloggers group online. So, I asked her what it was and what a good substitute would be for it. She suggested using Everything Bagel Seasoning.
It’s absolutely delicious! If your usual tuna salad is boring then I recommend you jump on over there and give that recipe a try asap.

While I was devouring those Asian Tuna Salad Nacho Bites I thought…
“This would be GREAT in chicken salad, too!”
WHAT IS EVERYTHING BAGEL SEASONING?
If you’re late to the party too, not to worry. There’s plenty of this flavorful seasoning mix around. Even Aldi carries it!
It’s typically a mixture of sesame seeds (both white and black), poppy seeds, dehydrated garlic and onion, and salt.
And, it tastes just like an everything bagel (but without the bagel…and the carbs).
I used Brunch Life Everything Bagel Seasoning from Freshjax for this recipe. I love their seasonings! They’re clean, healthy, and made in Jacksonville, Florida by a family-run business. They’re super nice, too!
NOTE: Some of their seasoning blends do contain sugars (such as sucanat), so be sure to read the ingredients first before ordering if you avoid sugar of any kind in your food.CLICK HERE TO VIEW PRODUCTS AND ORDER FROM FRESHJAX
HOW TO USE EVERYTHING BAGEL SEASONING (HINT: MAKE MY CHICKEN SALAD).
This seasoning blend is great used in so many ways. Of course, I highly recommend the very easy chicken salad recipe below.
Mister loved it, and once again was waiting like a vulture for me to finish taking photos for this post. He did that with my Chocolate Superfood Shake, too.
I don’t mind though. We have fun while he’s in my office. He helps. And I know that when I’m finally finished with my photos, he’ll have something healthy to eat.
You can do a lot with this though:
- Sprinkle on deviled eggs (try my spicy Sriracha Deviled Eggs!)
- Sprinkle on salads
- Shake up your egg salad – Sister’s Simple Savory Egg Salad, Sriracha Egg Salad
- Make fat bombs
- Or cheeseballs
- Seasoning kale chips
- Sprinkle on salmon
Pretty much all the things, really.
HOW TO FIT MY EVERYTHING SEASONING CHICKEN SALAD INTO YOUR THM MEAL PLANNING.
This is a low carb, THM S recipe. Enjoy on a bed of greens, rolled into a romaine lettuce wrap, with a low carb wrap or crackers, or on a low carb sandwich bread option.
WANT TO LIGHTEN IT UP?
Use my Low Fat Mayo Hack and make this suitable for a THM E or FP (Fuel Pull) meal.
In an E setting, you can enjoy a sandwich on sprouted bread or true sourdough.
For a FP, keep it to a 20 gram protein serving or less (just under half a cup) and follow the carb guidelines for an S meal.
Have you tried Everything Bagel Seasoning yet? What’s your favorite way to use it?
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
- Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for half an hour or longer before eating to allow the dehydrated spices to soften.
TO MAKE THIS LOW FAT:
Use my Low Fat Mayo recipe instead of regular mayo.
